3D Magnesium Porous Framework
The picture above shows the crystal structure of the three-dimensional metal-organic framework α‑[Mg3(O2CH)6]. This is a porous material containing THF molecules in the tubular channels. These molecules may be removed and replaced with different small molecules without disruption to the lattice. Such species are potentially useful in the selectve separation of complex mixtures.
