Kathryn M. Armstrong

Biography

Hi. I hate these bio things... well, I am 27 years old and I went to high school in Michigan and college in Chicago. I grew up in many different cities and I love to travel. I've found myself drawn to teaching and my research interests lie towards single molecule themodynamics. I'd like to branch out and learn more about kinetics.

Research Interests

Currently, I am studying the biothermodynamics of the protein-protein interaction of a T cell Receptor (TCR) with its cognate peptide-Major Histocompatibility Complex (pMHC) molecule. Most of the work has been done via Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) and a program I wrote to do global non-linear regression analysis in Origin. I'm looking forward to wrapping up this project as I begin looking at a high-affinity mutant, and learning more about Surface Plasmon Resonance and stopped-flow fluorescence anisotropy.
